These are some photos of the all-too-rare occasions when I managed to get "out and about". They include my first ever time at a support group meeting, the NWGA ("thanks" to Teri for the invite); and outside Stanford's Restaurant in Portland, where we went for dinner after a shopping trip to the mall.
After an extended "dry spell", I finally got to go out for the first time this year (2004). Not once, but three times in the space of eight days! I met up with friends here in the Bay Area and also up north in Portland. The weather was cold and wet, so I got to wear my London Fog raincoat (though I missed getting any photos wearing it). Dress appropriately.
Going into the autumn (2003), I got another opportunity to dress and try on some of the "Smart Casual" clothes I'd accumulated over the past few months. I found a pair of tan slacks that I felt fitted me really well, and thought I'd try different tops to see which combination I liked the most. Of the six sets, which do you like best?
Although it was heading into spring (2003), I found this really warm and comfortable pants/top combination in black with gold threads running through it. The photos don't do it justice, but it was very striking and shimmered seductively in the lights from my room. Bathing suit? What bathing suit?
I took some photos Back in March 2002 and thought I'd lost them before I could post them to my site. I was more organized than I thought because I found I'd made copies afterall! So here they are. I like the summer dress; you never know, I may get an opportunity to wear it outside this summer!
After buying more formal clothes during my last few shopping trips, I decided it was time to update my more conservative, corporate look. I think I look good in purple, so here is a seres of combinations of blouses and skirts that I could easily wear to the office. (Actually, if I wore these outfits to my company, I'd be better dressed than most of the women!)
Here are two quite revealing dresses: this leopard-skin, spaghetti strap, and one of my favorites, a maroon, full-length dress that really allows you to flaunt what you've got! The nice thing about the leopard spot is that its easy to adjust the length. I've got three photos of it; full-length, knee-length, and a mini-length. It's fun to play around with it.
It had been so long since I last had an opportunity to dress, I'd almost forgotton how! But going out for the evening with some other great T-Girls for diner, brought it all back to me in a glorious "rush". We walked around the downtown area first; just being outside, being dressed and breathing the fresh air was wonderful.
It was a bit of a squeeze getting into these new outfits, but it was definitely worth it. The black & red dress (to the left) had interesting, see-through slieves, and was very form fitting. There's another off-the-shoulder silk dress, with beautiful embroidery around the shoulders. The pant suit was really comfortable and would be perfect for dancing.
I bought myself a new, shorter wig quite some time ago, and hadn't had the opportunity to try it out with full make-up and dress... until now. I managed a visit to a casino (wearing my pant suit). I also went shopping for some new blouses that would add to my collection of "work clothes". I got two really nice silk ones, that went really well with my black skirt.
Fuchsia & Black Dress
This was my second trip to L.A. to meet my good friend Gina Martine. For the occasion I had bought this great dress, not really thinking that clubbing in L.A. in July was going to be Hot. Much as I like the dress, I wished I had worn something a little lighter. Oh well, live and learn!.
Another trip to New York City, and one of my first times outside during the day. I actually ended up enjoying the experience a lot. It was summer in the city and having a nice, flowing cotton dress made the heat and humidity a little more bearable (not to mention, it just felt good). I have a lot of older photos which I've moved to the Archives (to make things a little simpler to navigate). You're welcome to browse through those as well... if you feel so inclined.
